We Need To View Ministry Like Paul, Part 2

Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God.
(Colossians 1:25 NASB)

1st we saw that Paul found his true joy in Christ and in serving Him. He was made a minister and rejoiced in his sufferings for Christ. Now we will also see that Paul knew the origin, the focus, and the purpose of his ministry.

We Need To View Ministry Like Paul, Part 1

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions. (Colossians 1:24 NASB)

Paul saw his ministry or service to Christ as his ultimate joy in life. Notice, he says he was “made a minister.” Paul viewed himself as a minister as something he became because of God and not originating in himself.

Continue In The Faith

If indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. (Colossians 1:23 NASB)

The "if" of Colossians 1:23! What does it mean? What is it talking about? Who or what continues in the faith and how? All of these questions can be answered in the same person, Jesus Christ.

Get Over Yourself

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land." (Exodus 6:1 NASB)

We live in a day where too many people especially Christians are more concerned with what they can do and what they want to do instead of being concerned about what God is going to do or can do. We live in a day where too many churches want things to be the way that they want it to be and leave no room for God to move.

3 Options For Salvation

There are 3 possibilities for the salvation of mankind. God could save everybody, God could save nobody, or God could save somebody. Only in one of those 3 possibilities can God truly display all of His attributes and receive the most glory.
